Ambition: My ambition is to study archaeology which will enable me to be involved in the preservation of our traditional stone statues (Moai) including other artifacts and cultural practices of the people of my island and around the pacific.
My name is Tiare Pakarati, I am 19 years old and I represent Easter Island. I am a university student in Archaeological Conservation and Restoration.
I descend from a family of sculptors, sportsmen and dancers which are internationally recognized and are the ambassadors of our ancestral culture. Since a young age I have followed my passion for dance consistently which has given me the opportunity to travel around the world and spread this cultural expression.
RapaNui (synonym of Moai culture) is known as the largest open air museum in the world and has been referred to as one of the 7th wonders of the world. It’s people work towards the preservation of its ancestral traditions.
My goal is to become an archaeologist and I dedicate all my efforts to support Rapa Nui.
